Next week we are spending 3 nights in London to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary.
The biggest, hugest part of the weekend is we are getting to see Zorro at the Garrick theatre.
Zorro was originally set to run until the summer but they have just announced it will finish early, in March! And we got tickets! We got tickets through my dad, who got them through his fiancée, who go them through her son who happens to be THE STAR of the show!
Yes, folks, I kind of know Matt Rawle. HE IS AWESOME btw! Apparently we met as kids, but I have to be honest and say I don't remember, ooops.
here are two videos to show you, a short one, which is lots of bits from the show and a longer one which is their royal variety show performance.
So, what do you think? Good huh? And I get to go!

CPAP update
After a few rough nights where the mask was leaking often and quickly, I had a much better night last night.
I managed at least 3 hours, possibly as much as 3 and a half, and only had to refit my mask once, during that time!
here's to an even better night tonight.

CPAP update!
I am tired this morning!
Last night I got through an hour and 15 minutes before my mask leaked and woke me up!
But after that I just couldn't get it to sit right again, so it was leaking after just 12 or 13 minutes, and I have a 10 minute settling period, so only 2 or 3 of those were at normal pressure.
After dealing with that a few times I gave up.
And I am already falling asleep at the computer desk, and it's only 10 to 9. BUT I was up earlier than usual because 14 year old spent the night on sofa because he's ill, and hubby slept on other sofa. Hubby had to head to work early, so I had to take over watching son. he's now on big sofa and asleep again. The small sofa is too small for me to sleep on.
BUT for this tiredness to be UNUSUAL compared to the last week at least, that means the last week I've actually been having more energy than I had been! And thinking about it, YES, I have been aware of that. Not back to normal, not by a long shot, but certainly a little bit more than I had become used to. This is progress! I will take and celebrate every little bit of progress I can get.
Hopefully when son wakes up he'll be well enough for me to nip upstairs later for a nap with machine on.
Hey, maybe I'll take video camera with me, so you can see how I have things set up.

a Poem
I picked up a book of poems by Stewart Henderson yesterday. he is one of my favourite Christian poets, I even did a poetry writing workshop with him back in my late teens. Went all the way to London for it.
Well, yesterday at church I found a copy of one of his books on the 2nd hand table where people put things that are free to a new home.
I just love this poem and wanted to share it with you.
A WIFE MEDITATES ON HER BELOVED FROM THE BATHROOM
He always leaves the toilet seat up
and sometime's he's splashed
It must have been a woman
who invented the pedestal mat
An expression of an ironic protest
that is now essential furnishing
On waking, he makes the most bizarre noises
he sounds like a beached walrus belching
and blowing an off key trumpet
whilst revving up a Harley Davidson
Why is this so?
Why are there bristles in the basin?
And the untidiness
What does one sock on top of the ottoman mean?
Do you take this hurricane to be your
lawful wedded husband?
Is this him being himself?
Do I feel disillusioned?
Do I feel resentful and used?
Could he cope if I screamed at him?
Can any man ever take failure?
Am I nagging or am I pleading
for the real him to be him
and hold the real me?
Why can't he be vulnerable yet strong
at the same time?
precarious thing, Love.

FOR TODAY, Monday 9th February...
Outside my window...
There is still snow on the ground from our freeze of last week.
More is forecast for this afternoon and evening.
I am thinking...
That I really really need the new letterheaded paper from church, but they haven't finished designing it yet. How long does it take for crying out loud?
I need to send letters to local school trying to get in there to do assemblies, and it will go down so much better if it is on a proper letterheaded paper.
I am thankful for...
The fact that my youngest son seems a bit better this morning. Last night he threw up all over the bathroom carpet! He has a loft bed, but also has a habit of passing out when he is ill, so we don't like hi sleeping up high when he is ill. So he and my hubby slept on the sofas in the living room last night so that we didn't have to worry about him passing out as he climbed down from a high bed.
From the learning rooms...
The last week was spent working through and making notes on a book about running a weekly outreach children's club. I learnt a lot. This week I need to read through some books on school assemblies and learn from those.
From the kitchen...
I really need to do some clean up in the kitchen today but if I do manage that I want to bake some muffins. Probably banana and nut, depending on whether the bananas have actually gone too brown to use.
I am wearing...
Blue jeans, and orange and brown jersey top and a gorgeous soft, fluffy light brown hooded sweatshirt that is my sisters and really should be returned to her. I LOVE IT!
I am creating...
This week I want to get some thank you cards made and do some catch up on my scrapbooking. BUT I also want to work some more on something I just started yesterday. Ages and ages ago I picked up a book on cartooning, last night I got it out, grabbed a pencil and some paper and had a go. Heck, I'm no artist, I'll never be brilliant at this, but what I did produce was not so bad! And I enjoyed it!
I am going...
Nowhere today because youngest was throwing up last night and hubby is also home with a stomach upset going the other way!
On Wednesday I have to go to the hospital. I'm seeing the Ear nose and throat guy about the possibility of removing my tonsils. It's all to do with my Sleep Apnoea. My sleep Doctor says that my tonsils are HUGE and probably making my sleep apnoea worse, so he wants me to see the ENT to talk about getting them removed. I never knew they were abnormally large, I just assumed everyone's looked the same as mine.
I knew I'd had tonsillitis a lot as a child and that more recently I have had it a few times too, but no one had ever said "WOW, those are big" like this doc did.
So, day after tomorrow I see the ENT, I'll let you know what happens.
I am reading...
Hippo in the Garden a book on hearing God through the Prophetic.
I picked it up off the second hand "free to a new home" table at church yesterday.
I am hoping...
That the snow that is forecast for tonight doesn't make my journey to the hospital the day after, difficult.
I am hearing...
my husband pottering around the kitchen, washing some dishes or something like that. He was supposed to be sleeping but he says he can't get back off.
Around the house...
Kitchen is the priority for today, then the stairs NEED vacuuming.
One of my favourite things...
is to come downstairs to a clean kitchen in the mornings, but one of my most unfavourite things is to clean it up last thing at night.
A few plans for the rest of the week:
Stay home today and loo after sickies. Soaking tomorrow night, hospital on Wednesday, Valentine's day on Saturday. Could someone please communicate to the leader of the men's group at church that it is NOT appropriate to organise a men's breakfast on valentines day when our husbands should be at home making us breakfast in bed, heeheee. He won't listen to me, GRIN!
Here is picture thought I am sharing...(add your picture here)

CPAP update
Well, I have had my CPAP machine for over a week now. I do start every night with it, but am still having problems.
People have been telling me it could take a month or more to get used to it so I am not worried at the moment, but I am not enjoying the process. I'm hanging in there because I know it will get better.
A lot of people suffer with a dry nose, NOT ME, I get a dry mouth and throat.
And if you wake up in the night with your mask leaking and your mouth so darned dry your lips are stuck to your gums, it's quite a palava to get a drink, the mask refitted and back off to sleep. I do try and most nights I manage at least 2 hours, with the best nights going up to 3 and a half hours. But I've had two really bad nights, where I did not even get to 2 hours with the mask on. One of those was last night. The settling down went ok, with the mask fitting nicely, but once I woke up it was jsut a nightmare and I could not get it to fit quite right after that, grrhhhh! So today I am not feeling good!
I'm also getting a headache a lot of the time. Not a really bad one, just enough to be annoying.
I KNOW that this will get better! I know that God has a better plan this, I KNOW that He wants to actually bring full healing so that I don't need this any more.
But in the meantime I have to live with this, and right now it's not fun.

FOR TODAY, Monday 2nd February 2009...
Outside my window...
It's snowing. It started last night, went on through the night, eased off a bit this morning and has started again in the last hour or so. Apparently in the South of England and up into Central England it is some of the worst snow they have had in 18 years. Gatwick London city and Stanstead airports are all closed, red London buses not running, and half the tube lines closed!
Here it is not so bad.
BUT Hubby works over towards the Central England area, about an hour and a half's journey away in usual work day traffic.
I'm praying he makes it home ok.
I am thinking...
That it would be nice to get the boys outside in the snow after school and make some snow men or something but I can't find a pair of gloves. Loads of single gloves but no pairs. Where did they all go?
I am thankful for...
Hubby has decided to bring work home with him tonight in case it is too bad tomorrow, then he'll be able to work from home.
From the learning rooms...
We don't homeschool but I hope we're all still learning. This morning I learnt how to put a narration on a powerpoint presentation.
From the kitchen...
I need to do some clear up but I would like to do some baking later. It seems a baking sort of day with all that snow around.
I am wearing...
Black smart trousers, with thermal long johns underneath. Purple jersey top. I can only find one of my slippers so my feet are cold and i need to go put a pair of socks on.
I am creating...
A powerpoint presentation to try and get the members of our church excited about the possibility of a childrens outreach weekly club.
I am going...
NOWHERE in this weather. I cancelled my usual Monday meeting with my superior at church. With more snow coming tomorrow I probably won't get to soaking group tomorrow night. the weather is supposed to be slightly better on Wednesday, but I'm kind of hoping I still can't get out because there's a meeting I'm supposed to be going to on Wednesday evening that i really do not want o go to.
I am reading...
"Don't tell cute stories - Change Lives" by Mark Griffiths.
I am hoping...
That everyone stays safe in this weather.
I am hearing...
The radio is on today, tuned into a local station because they always announce any school closures etc. I don't usually have it on, but feel I need to today.
Around the house...
I need to clean up in the kitchen, tidy the living room and catch up on the laundry.
One of my favourite things...
Is central heating!
A few plans for the rest of the week:
Staying home as much as possible in this weather. Hoping for weather to provide an excuse for meeting on Wednesday and maybe even Saturday.
Here is picture thought I am sharing...
