Works for me Wednesday

I finally have something for works for me Wednesday, YEAH!

Yesterday everyone worked on tidying these up, so they were in a state that I could happily take a photo of.

WALL POCKETS is what we call them. We've had a problem for a while now of what to do with the post when it arrives. Where to put it, how to separate it into piles for each person and so on. I remembered that at work we have some fo these that we separate people's post into.
Now, I knew i couldn't afford to buy some of those but wondered what I could improvise with either what we had ro something not too expensive.

Now we have these:

Just to the left is the corner of the wall in our hallway and just to the right is a doorway, it's a nice little space of wall to fit something like this. They are just plastic file folders and I use drawing pins (thumb tacks) from the inside to attach them to the wall. Everyone's used to have their photo on their folder, but hubby's got overused and broke and I haven't got around to replacing his photo.
Now, when the post arrives, I just put it into the right folder and everyone can check it out when they arrive home. They also work as temporary storage for a few papers that either have no place to be filed or are waiting to be filed.

Change Around

We've had a little furniture move around at home. We made space in eldest's room for his desk which was previously under the stairs. My hubby went up into the loft to sort out cables so that eldest could still have internet access up there, and while he was at it, sorted out the cables for youngest's computer too.

then I moved the shoe rack from next to the front door where it always looks so messy, to under the stairs, which is covered with a curtain, so can be hidden from view. and slid up against it the telephone hallway stool. Much more open down in the hall now, I like it!

Still need to put all the STUFF back in and on the furniture that has been moved but that can wait until tomorrow now.

Oh, and I think I might be able to get eldest a filing cabinet from church. We were gifted some furniture when an organisation that used to rent rooms from us for office space closed down, and we're not using it. So I'm going to make an offer of a few pounds on a couple of those units. they're the ones with an ordinary drawer in the top and a filing cabinet drawer in the bottom, just the one. It should fit UNDER his desk.

I'm going to BELGIUM!

Oh yes I am!
Next week in fact!
This is scary and exciting all at the same time.

I am off to visit a friend I have only known online. She wants to get baptised and is having difficulty organising it in her particular church, so I'm going and we will find a river or even maybe the ocean and we will to the business! Heeheee!
We'll also do some sightseeing and taste chocolate! FUN FUN FUN!

I booked the flights this morning. This will be the first time I have ever flown alone. I'm not one of those peope who enjoys flying, it's not that i am afraid, but that it does not agree with my stomach. I usually close my eyes and try and concentrate on my breathing and get through that way. The beginning and end of a flight are the worst. The flight itself is just over an hour so I should be ok though.

Soooo, suggestions for a baptism gift?
And yes, I know about buying the jello! heeheeee. That has you all very confused right now, huh? That's a gift that my friend has asked for because she can't get decent jelly over there and asked me to bring some. NO PROBLEMO!
So, other than jello, any suggestions?

NEW HOME!

Here I am in my new home on the web.
Much as I LURVED Typepad and dream of returning there one day, our current financial position meant cutting all non essentials, and typepad was one of them.

So here I am, blogging for free at Blogger.

Might take me a while to get used to it, but I'm sure it will soon feel like home.

Many many blessings to everyone who has managed to find me here. If you have any problems reading or commenting please let me know.
